Game Design / Project Proposal

Welcome to Prime University!

You are the newest student on campus, since you have transferred mid semester. Prime University offers many places to learn, hang out and interact on campus. Places of interest would be the classrooms after schooling hours, the cafeteria and the many hangout spaces outside.

Though try not to forget this is a place of learning. Attend your classes of Math, Science, English, Literature and History.

Make memories and enjoy your life as a student.

Game Summary

Just Three Words is a murder mystery game hiding behind a cute dating simulator. The game is designed to make the player feel safe before the it falls apart before them. All assets of the game have been created from scratch and built up into animated sprites. A small demo has been made and will be published at a later date.

Just Three Words Post Mortem

This game has a playable demo to explore dialogue, story branching and relationship building. While in a very Alpha-like state, the game was enjoyed by many students as the project developed. While I wanted Just Three Words to have it’s own style, I dislike how some of the artwork came out. To redo the continue the project would be a great effort, requiring a proper development team.
The script for Just Three Words is limited to just the demo, as only the identifiable traits of characters has only been fully worked to completion. In the future I would love to implement more parts of the game to have a demo that feels complete.

Characters & Sprites

Meet Your Classmates!

Each student has their own personality, club and set of features. These features would be used to decipher who the killer was or try to find the next victim before it was too late. Students have qualities to set them apart or bind them together.

There are two clubs present: The Etiquette Club and the Photography club. Both clubs have five members, though they are eager to add the new student to the group. The clubs maintain a friendly rivalry, which may turn sour depending on the player’s choices. Club members would also be less likely to be victims, as they are usually together. While club loyalty tends to be kind hearted, it may also be used to protect a cold blooded killer.

The remaining students just go with the flow, spending their day with friends or just idling from class to class. These students are more likely to witness events and become solid alibis, while also staying under the radar of most after school activities.
